Saturday Bank Holiday Tracker
Welcome to SaturdayTracker.com. Under a Government of India notification issued under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, effective September 1, 2015, banks remain closed on the Second and Fourth Saturdays of every month. The RBI has aligned payment systems accordingly (e.g., RTGS is not operated on 2nd/4th Saturdays). The 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays are generally full working days.
Our automated calculator allows you to:
- Verify upcoming bank holidays for the next 2 years.
- Plan custody schedules (e.g., alternating weekends, 2-2-3 patterns, or 2nd/4th Saturday visitations).
- Track employee shift patterns that fall on specific Saturdays.
- Download your custom schedule to Google Calendar or Outlook.
How the 2nd & 4th Saturday Rule Works
Since 2015, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other financial institutions have standardized Saturday holidays. This rule helps streamline operations for public and private sector banks. However, if a month has five Saturdays, banks will be open on the 5th Saturday.
Use the Universal Pattern Generator above to select any pattern (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th Saturday) and generate a complete list of dates for your specific needs.
US Co-Parenting & Custody Schedules
For parents in the United States following Standard Possession Orders (SPO), particularly in Texas and Utah, custody schedules often rely on the specific count of the weekend. The non-custodial parent typically has visitation on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekends, while the custodial parent retains possession on the 2nd and 4th weekends.
